Build a Bridge from Your Vision to Your Tribe

How do you connect your venture, creation, business, project, or book — your brainchild — to your perfect audience, tribe, circle, or community?

You need a bridge. You need a strong bridge that weaves together:

~the heart of your vision, its benefits, how it will change the corner of the world you are intending to change.
~the authenticity of your voice, the integrity of your heart, the power of your soul manifesting through your intended creation and its message.
~the clear expression of how you can solve the problems or help your people overcome the challenges or deal with the issues you address.
~the longings and yearnings of those people who can only hear it from you — your tribe, your community, your readers, your clients.
~the words that create the connections, the written words that weave all these elements together so that all the pieces stand together as something brand new and stronger than any one of the items alone — i.e., synergies.

You can build the bridge and chart the path across the gap between your vision and your tribe. And sometimes it’s nice to have a guide to show you the way.

  1. There seems to be a lot of talk about “tribes” lately. Are we regressing in time, or coming full circle?

I tend to think the latter. 🙂

And yes, most tribes have guides. They’re sometimes called shamans…

I like the way you think Bobbye.

    1. Welcome Mtn Jim! Tribes…hmmm. I think it may have been the Technium blog that talks about tribes of 1000 fans. Seth Godin picked up on that in 2009 in his book Tribes. And it’s continued to go viral. I think there are a lot of circles completing — with tribes being just one. Another I would say is the return to small businesses, in some ways a reflection of what we had as a nation in the time of the founding fathers (and mothers.) I appreciate your comments, and I am actually researching “Shamans” and “vision quests” as a way to fully offer value to the people who want to hang out in my circle. Thank you for your vote of confidence!

  2. Boobye, I love the picture you paint of a bridge to connect our vision with our tribe. This image can be developed in a lot of ways.. I look forward to seeing where you take it. And Melanie makes great additions with her talk of sturdy pillars…

    1. Anthony, Thanks! The foundation (as Melanie points out) is critical to any endeavor–from bridge-building, to home, to garden, to book, to painting…Bridge-building is really about marketing, about opening the way for the connection between what you have (business or book or service) and the just-right people who need it.

    1. Rob, Actually I’m going to talk more about finding the right guide. Coming right up! Thank you for your comment that’s pointing to what I will cover next. I appreciate you stopping by!

  3. Bobbye ~

Your guide is the ultimate “contractor” for helping to construct your bridge. After all, bridges are not easy to build and without the proper pilings and struts, your bridge will not be sturdy or accessible.

Take your vision, go find a guide, and build your bridge!
